Some people are telling me that since SI Mags are dual 2 ohm that the amplifier needed to power 2 of these must put out 1800 X 1 at 2 ohm. Other people are saying that 1800 X @ 1 ohm will give each of these subs 900w each.

The reason I ask is because I am looking to get a IA 20.1, but just want to make sure that it will be giving my subs 900w each because it puts out 1800 X 1 at 1 ohm. But only 900 x 1 at 2 ohm

The one thing in car audio that I am completely clueless about is ohms.

You can not obtain a final 1ohm load with two DVC 2ohm/coil subwoofers.

Only .5ohm, 2ohm and 8ohm.

Well the IA 20.1 is stable at .5 ohm, so would I be able to run the amp at .5 ohm giving each sub about 1000w, and would it be okay to have it running at .5 ohm daily?

yes it will be perfectly fine.....they are very stable at .5 just make sure you have a good electrical system in your car
