Do you ever read prior posts? I said it sounds like it is farting, not distorted, just like a flapping sound. Is this clipping, or something else...?

If you're going to do anything with mobile audio yourself, you at least need a DMM, something that's at least a volt-ohm-ammeter (can read AC/DC voltage, resistance, and small amounts of current). Go to Lowe's or Home Depot tomorrow and buy one, you'll need it.

Okay, the speaker is 350rms, and I have it wired at 8ohms to an 800w amp, giving it 400rms. Could this be too much for the little sub? (eight inches)

...why would the diameter damage it more? and no, i highly doubt 50 rms will harm it that much.
