Clipping From Car Play

I have a Kenwood DMX 9707S and am experiencing clipping.

I am experiencing clipping at any volume on Apple Car Play, but don't experience clipping when using Bluetooth. However, at max volume on Bluetooth I do experience clipping.

I assume it is because when connected to Apple Car Play, the phone's volume is set to max and it cannot be controlled. Instead you have to control the volume via the head unit, but it doesn't change the phone's volume.

I use Spotify on the highest quality setting as I found that Apple Music was clipping slightly earlier on the few songs I tested.

I have read multiple people on the apple support forum mention similar issues.

I have two Kenwood head units. I can tell you this based off using my DD1+ on them. The max rated voltage is achieved at 34 out of 35. On 35, the head unit alone produces an extra 10% voltage, and the head unit alone has distortion.

Thanks but that’s not the issue I’m having. Even at head unit on 10 it clips when using car play.

I used an oscilloscope and my head unit didn’t clip at max volume via Bluetooth. Which models did you test?
