yeah i cant do it atm, cause im in class, that was my next thing im gona check.. but with the car off it was staying at like 12 and maybe hit like 11.9 at around when it started to make the hollow sound... i havent checked it with the car on, but it makes no difference, that i could tell, in output... with the help of the alt

Is that at the amp, the batt or both? And you are right it shouldnt make a difference with the car on or off if you are around 12v.

When you are playing both amps what are you using for power?

Also does the volume just seem to disappear as you turn it up? Even with only one amp in there no matter which it is?

it was measured at the time at the distro block.. but i didnt test that much since id idnt think power was the issue.. ill look at that more tomorrow..

when playing both amps im just running some shitty battery, and only have 4 guage power/ground.. (since i only had a 4 chan amp at the time)

and it plays fine until it hits volume X.. once it hits volume X it sounds "hollow" and if i raise it higher, it gets louder.. but still sounds "hollow" but its defently not overpowering it... it just loses like all lows it had and changes how it sounds... i know a 6.5 shouldnt be recieving a full range signal, i do have a the lower frequencies lowered through my EQ, since i lack an active crossover atm.. but im not driving them that hard, considering this speaker is meant to get low for a 6.5...

How about your ground? Do you have any pics of the install including grounding location?

actually that is something i should check.. i know my ground is far from ideal, well its not that bad, but i always wanted to redo it... lol but i didnt think it would be possible to have this affect?

Your gain is set wrong if it's clipping. That's what causes clipping, nothing else.
