I remember back in the late 80s and early 90s this company made some great product. I just saw the latest clif design amp line and it looks promising. Anyone know of their reputation now?

If the local dealer around here is any example, Clif Designs are VERY expensive compared to amps with similar output. They are also made by Anaba, the ones responsible for Visonik and MA Audio. Clif Designs is Anaba's highest line of amps, IIRC.

From talking to Erik Harbour at Anaba, Clif is aimed at the SQ market and MA is aimed at the Get Loud Market. Clif amps are CEA rated which is a good thing. Visonik is the average line and not built to the same quality as MA or Clif.

Yes, but the same holds true for companies like McIntosh, TRU Technology, Brax, Zapco, etc, etc.

Output is only one aspect of amplifier value. THD ratings, features, and most important..........build quality and durability are what seperate these amps from cheaper amps with similar output.

Well, I can't comment on those features. I've never been a huge fan of Anaba in general, but their highest lines have definitely never been for the faint of heart. I honestly believe all the brands you mentioned are generally better than Clif Designs, but they also cost more.
