Clemson Vs. Bridge Program?????

one of the best if not the best D1 college in SC. so i guess its just SC that's run down huh??
Shows how good SC is, I visited 7 schools from WV to GA in 5 days, and Clemson was by far the most run down school I visited.

Both UNCW and UNC @ Chapel hill were ALOT nicer campuses. But what would I know? I only looked at them one day after another....

Clemson is not state funded so it is run down, they don't have the money to keep it up like state funded schools.

They don't even have the money to clean up that nasty reflecting pond

too bad this picture doesn't show the trash/leaves and everything else in that shithole

How about this, you pay for my out of state tuition and ill boast on UNC just like you. I agree there are plenty of better campuses out there, but i dont think thats what this thread is about. Clemson is not state funded, so that being the case how can you even compare the two. Also, i am staying in state and imo Clemson is 10x better than USC so i am happy.

How about you get off your *** and get scholarships to pay out of state tuition? Which is what I did.

If I was you I would stay in that bridge program as long as possible, because the campus at CU is nasty, although there is a large population of fine females there.

I didnt get to visit USC so I can't comment on that, I just know that I was VERY disappointed when I visited there. Stay wherever you can as cheaply as you can and then transfer, because CU is not worth the money they charge.

Im finishing up my 2 year degree at my local community college and because of some agreement (cant think of the exact name) I will be transferring to a 4 year college as a Junior this fall.

So I would say do the tri-county or whatever.

Clemson is state funded. 28% of its revenue is provided by the state. If it was not state funded chances are it would be private not public.

Well, i was initially denied acceptance to clemson. I was accepted, however, into the bridge program. This program is classes that have been set up by clemson at the local tri-county tech school that help the student transfer with ease into clemson as a sophomore. I just received a call and an email today stating that i have the opportunity to join the freshman class in the fall of 09 at clemson if i was interested. I am stuck deciding what to do.
Tri-county:

The housing is AMAZING. 4 bed 4 bath all brand new with outdoor pool/lazy river and an awesome clubhouse. It is right on the lake with a field that rivals bowmans. The classes will be a little easier i imagine, and i still have a clemson student id that gets me into all the games for free or w/e a clemson student pays. I cannot rush or play some intermural sports. I already have 3 roomies lined up and was all ready to go.

Clemson:

Crappy dorms. Two roomies i am considering both are random right now but i am pretty sure would room with me. I have all privileges of clemson students and a little tougher classes.

The main difference is housing and the ability to rush for a frat...... What do you guys think??

I was enrolled went to Tri-County when I first attended college and it was not that bad. A lot of the professors that teach at Tri-County teach at Clemson. Granted it is a little more lax you still get a decent education. If you prepare you will succeed anywhere.

i think i would go to the bridge program. classes shouldnt be that different, save some cash, still close to campus, and the living space looks amazing.

have a little easier transition but still be enjoying college life.

I was told by a couple people who went there that it wasn't a state funded school and thats why it was so shitty there.

So what is the reason why its so shitty?

I am/was in a bridge program. I was originally accepted to Eastern Michigan after graduating high school. After one semester of failing all my classes due to not attending, I realized I wasn't mature/responsible enough for college and severely under prepared. Went back home, started at a community college and did a bridge program to a university and now have my bachelors degree. It was cheaper and it was a good way to ease you into college.

Depends on what your idea of shitty is? Just like any college buildings will deteriorate eventually. And just like any college, Clemson will upgrade facilities. You also have to factor in the endowment of the school. IMO I don't think you judge a campus on a few leaves in the reflecting pool or a few old buildings. Those few things will not take from the level of education you will receive.

The leaves/trash in the pool was just the only thing i took a picture of.

I went in the academic buildings, and walked into an unfinished basement where most of my classes would be held. Their MBA program was such a joke I left before my scheduled appointment to speak with the MBA director.

UGA has buildings much older than clemson, but its campus was VERY much nicer and maintained better than Clemson.

I was leaning more to the Bridge program idea at the beginning, but after talking with family members i decided to go ahead and get into clemson. My mom pushed for me to start out there too for some reason which totally surprised me.

does that even make sense?

that the buildings are older, but are maintained better and in better shape than CU's? Unless you were trying to poke fun at my grammar, where I used was compared to is since I havent been there in 6-9 months. Either way, UGA>CU was my point.

Sure does to me.

if you don't believe me go to this building

and follow the signs to the mba/business program... you'll end up in an unfinished basement, or go upstairs and see some 80's carpet and deteriorating tile.

Have you visited the campus?
