clear coat on the magnet

hey i was wondering if clear coating the magnet will effect the performance?? why do i wanna do this ,, not that my magnet falling apart,, but it had a paper thin slliver came off an i want to prevent if from happening again.. let me know guys

thats wutt im saying it just has super small spots were pieaces came off.

i just wann aclear it so it hold up better over all.i mean i see house magnets colored an glued an stuff i mean i just wanna clear it .. has any one done this

well, technically you could paint it. I don't see any issues with heat and it won't cause any issues with the magnetic circuit. The surface is fairly porous so it should be easy to paint. Altec used to paint all their magnets with something like Hammerite, or the Rustoleum hammered look paint. Get a can of that and spray them if you feel you need to.
