yes, def. the cheaper u go, more dust. I use bosch pads and they hold up well. (i wanna say 2wks.)
why would u need acid wash?

are they yellowed?

well i buy the "good" pads at pepboys. theyre $60/pair, and the best ones i can get for my vehicle (at pepboys). i cant remember what brand they are though. unfortunatly my truck goes through them like i go through cheesesteaks. and that of course is cause my rear brakes do virtually nothing at all (soon to be fixed).

i just figured acid wash would eat off anything.

it will, including your chrome. try some rubbing compound and polish. clean them real well first use the stuff i mentioned above. then clean/ dry. and go to town with rubin compound and polish.

turtle wax makes a good chrome polish.

these arent crome rims. these are stock aluminum rims on my blazer

(at least i think theyre aluminum...)

ah i didnt know, u drive a extreme? it still peel off w/e down to the metal. unless its polished.

try sanding it very very fine and and doing some rubbing compound. as for very fine i think 3k grit.

not an extreme, 2-door 4x4. what does "w/e" mean?

Hot Wheels rim cleaner works great, spray it on and agitate with a scrub brush. then spray off.

for polish i use mothers, then a coat of wax over it.
