Not a bad concept like the idea with you came up with. since i've carpeted a couple boxes just here's a tip when u do it make stress cuts for the corners first then do that piece do it piece by piece make em even together and u will never tell but like the amp rack idea nice.

thats nice..

The only thing I would change is drilling some holes for the wires to drop out of sight

you could ziptie them up under the amp rack..

but over all nice job..
