Class "D" and damping factor

Howdy,

Ive been out of the car audio game since '99 or so and I have been a forum lurker for a little while now. I am putting a new system togather and I have noticed that every manufacturer and their dog seems to have a class D mono bass amp on the market. Knowing that Class D amps inherently have worse damping factor then their class A/B counterparts, and reviews on class D amps that I have read on CA&E supporting this, I have to ask if there really is a difference in bass SQ with them. If so, is it dependant on brand/model? (E.g. you get what you pay for?)

lol I have no idea who "polecat" is.

I am a POLKAT in the Air Force. In a nutshell, 90% of what we do deals with putting gas on planes.
