ive heard alot of bad things about all the 2003 clarions....hadnt used a 2003 yet so i cant say

My friend has a dxz925 and I have a 2003 model dxz835mp. Both have worked flawlessly so far. I have never ever had a problem with any clarion radio I have owned ever, and I have used them since the late 80's..

Exactly what bad things have you heard???

The local shop sells clarion(along with Eclipse), and I am good friends with the owners so I am there alot. I have messed around with the 925(virtually the same as the 935), and I don't like it at all. The motorized face works ok, but the 2nd, drop down part is kind of clunky(and all the moving parts and clunky just don't mix with cold winters...I live in Maine). The shop sold ONE of the 925s as far as I know. It came back defective, so they swapped it out for the other 925 they had in stock. If I was buying a clarion(very reliable brand, but I have run eclipse for many years), I would go with the 835mp if I was buying new.

I too would like to know what all the bad things are about the 2003 clarions. The shop hasn't had any issues with them yet as far as I know.

wont read cd text, sound quility not as good as it used to be, cant read the text in the day, a few other things but i cant say i had the problem but a couple of buds and a few peeps on here

As for cd text, I think you can have it on or off(why, if the deck is capable of reading cd text, you would want it off is beyond me), but maybe their decks are setup so cd text won't be displayed(and do we know that cd text was burned properly onto the discs). Those are things I would want to know before saying that the new clarions had issues displaying cd text. As for the sq, I always thought clarions were good sounding decks, but for better sound, I run eclipse.
