Clarion DXZ935 CDR/MP3 Question - Help!

I've owned the DXZ935 for a coupe months now, and (despite the CD-loading mechanism) i love the unit. I've had no problems except this one (which i'm thinking is partly due to my CD burner, since it's old ... like a 4X old...) : I can't get the unit to recognize any CDR/CDRWs with MP3 data on them! It loads the disc, and starts playing it but there's only 1 track, and the tracklength is as long as the percentage of the used CD (such as, if i only burned 350 MB of MP#s on there, an 70 minute CD would show up w/a track being 35 minutes long, get me?).

Also, my CDRW drive can't burn tracknames, so the unit displaying the tracks hasn't yet been used, but is the unit capable of displaying the mp3's ID3 tag? If so, that's gonna kick *** once iget it working.

If anyone can help, it'd be very appreciated

Thanks

Well your problem is THE UNIT DOESN'T PLAY MP3S OR WMA!

http://www.clarion.com/proaudio/srcunit01.htm

Notice how the unit doesn't have MP after it's name like the other ones?

That's a good deck, I talked to someone who has it and has been very satisfied with it. But me, I NEED MP3 support. I just got the DXZ835MP and installed it yesterday and so far I like it a lot more than my MPV7019. Now, all I gotta do is learn the controls.

Hmm... yeah, that makes sense. LOL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif I could of swore this thing played MP3s, but appreanly it doesn't.... shit. And iwas hoping for that, but oh well... maybe i'll go buy that Neo Car Jukebox thing, i've got GIGs of MP3s waiting....

also, maybe i'm wrong, but doesn't it seem a waste to put CD audio on a CDRW? Why give support to it if it's rather pointless when you can buy bulk CDRs for around .50/ea?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Thanks for the help tho

Peace

no its not really pointless if you just want to listn to a few songs like to sample them in your car or if you just dont want to download enough songs to make a complete cd so u just put a few on instead of wasting a cd r for like 5 or 10 songs

You could hook up one of those jukebox things to the AUX in of the headunit if you have an adapter. My bro just had a headphone to RCA adapter laying around so i put it in my car and tested it out with my sony mp3 discman, sounded pretty good. I have one CD/RW and I've only used it a few times for files, pretty useless in my opinion. I was about to buy the 935 instead of the 835 but I decided that I didn't wanna spend that much (I don't remember how much more it was, maybe like $100?). And it's a good thing I didn't cause I also didn't realize it didn't have MP3 support at the time.
