Clarion amp problem

Hope this is the correct forum...

Just started having a problem with my Clarion xc1410 amp in my boat.

After about an hour of moderate use last weekend ... It slowly started a loud BUZZ over all 4 channels coming out of the speakers. Not a whine, not a hum but a BUZZ. I turned off the stereo (independently powered) and the buzz remained....until I powered off the amp. Turned everything back on after a minute...and all was good for about 10 minutes, then it happens again, and so on. I felt on the amp and it was pretty hot...could keep my hand on it for only 3-4 seconds.

I know it was a hot weekend, but not the first summer I have used it.

Amp is clarion xc1410 class d, 75x4

Using about 15ft of 8 gauge as power wires, installed in an area with about 6 cubic ft of free space.

Anyone have any similar situations or possible solutions??

Not just to say "your amp is bad" but maybe what has gone bad? I can fix almost anything if I know what part is broke. Thank u ppl

Have you checked the ground connection, and verified all speakers work fine? Just checking....didnt know if you were having a voice coil going out on 1 of your speakers.

As stated..Check ground wiring,/all power wiring..Is your battery putting out the correct amount of voltage??/maintaining voltage?Might get your Battery checked,or check with a DMM during operation,as well as sitting if you know how to use the DMM yourself.Low voltage could be the culprit??

Thanks for the info. When all this happened, I didn't have a chance to spend a lot of time checking with my DMM due to being in my boat aT the river. FYI both 8 gauge power (about 18ft each) wires go direct to the dual batteries. Maybe voltage drop? Considering getting 4awg. I will further look into things and report back. Thanks again
