Civics Slow?

Alright the other day I was on my way home and these two ricers pulled up next to me at a stoplight. A '94 Honda Civic 5-Speed and a '91ish Honda Accord 5-Speed. They obviously were going to race eachother but when the light turned green I stomped on it as well. I raced them again from a 45mph and again at 40mph. I dont know how, but every time we raced, I dusted them. My car is... well... a 2002 Ford Focus ZTW Wagon (Automatic). Yes, I drive a wagon... My car is all stock and has 250,000 miles on a 2.0L Zetec engine. Are the older honda's really that slow, I always thought hondas were fairly peppy???

But seriously, doesn't surprise me you beat em, those civics with the base engine are slow, and if manuals the drivers probably don't know how to shift to race from a 40mph roll.

Probably a d15 and the accord has an f22. Both slow motors.

i'm pretty sure it could... and i'm not saying all civics are slow.. just stock ones, lol... i kno a couple guys who have completely built b18's running around 600 hp under 22psi... but when you get a bunch of rednecks with SLOW cars trying to race... just fail

Stop light racing! Thats what we do on North Ave (main drag) here lol... But yes Hondas are not that fast, I have smoked a few with one of my friends focus with a 5 speed and so has she...

There are a couple hatches here running low 12's...

haha.....hell my monster del sol was pretty fast.....the civic u were racing was a d15 at best

Was it a light truck he swapped out? I love seeing rangers and tacoma's and ish with diesel engines, surprisingly fast.
