circuit $hitty can kiss my....

Generally, when I do a newer Celica, I hardwire. Open your glove box all the way and you'll find the factory amp, behind the glove box to the right. A plug in the factory amplifier will have power, ground, and all the speaker wire outputs. The plug behind the factory head unit is pretty useless because there are no speaker wires, just the signal wires to the factory amp.

There is a Toyota/Lexus premium-sound harness that lets you use your deck's RCA pre-outs to feed the factory amplifier, but I've sometimes had problems with ground noise when using that harness. In any case, I don't think it fits the Celica plug.

Wait...........so the plug that plugged into the back of the stock cd player Im not even supposed to be using? Im supposed to be using the ones from the amp?

The first one I bought has a bunch of plug ins. 2 for the speakers and I think two others and I was trying to plug it in to the plug that came out of the back of the stock cd player.

And Im using my money and drove my truck just b/c Im a nice guy like that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Actually guys, I ****ed her at my party I had weekend before last...

Just to be honest with ya, Im bout to tell her to leave me alone after all this is done. The dick made her go crazy.

Anyways......no one answered my question. Is it supposed to plug into the plug that came from the back of the stock head unit. Or do I need to find the amp and use those plugs?

Now see.....even if I was gonna get any, yall still havnt answered that question so I can finish the job. lol

The 70-8112 is the Metra premium sound interface. Does it have RCA connectors as part of the harness? It's designed to use your head unit's RCA outputs to feed the factory amp inputs. I've used it a lot in Avalons but I don't think it fits the Celica harness.

There's also no harness that fits the output plugs from the factory amp. Many Toyota amplifiers have output plugs that fit standard Toyota harnesses; not the Celica. You might be able to find a harness that fits the output plug (I think a Daewoo harness works) but the pinout is different. You'd have to re-pin the harness.

What you can do is use a multimeter to identify the speaker outputs, power, accessory power and ground at the factory amp output plug, then use speaker wire to extend them all up to the head unit location. Or you can find power, accessory power and ground at the factory head unit plug and just extend speaker wires to the factory amp outputs. Either way you need to be handy with a multimeter.
