Ok.....

This girl has a 2000 Celica GTS and I have gone to our local walmart looking for a wiring harness. I found one that looked to be right. It said up to an 04 Celica and up to a 99 Celica GT and I figured whats the difference so I bought it. Turns out it dont fit. So then I get in my truck and drive 40 miles to the next walmart. They dont have it.

Now today really ticked me off......

I went to Paducha today to Circuit City thinking surely to god this place should have it.

I walk in and go to the car audio section and I ask specifically "Do you have a wiring harness for a 2000 Celica GTS?" and they instantly reply YEP! And in return I instantly get a hard on. So they bring me the harness and I take one look at it and tell them it wont fit. That it looked just like the other one I bought at walmart. Then they tried to convince me that it would. Then they asked me if it had an "advanced system" in it. And I said well its just got the components and tweets in the doors nothing too advanced. And they instantly reply YEP! and go back and bring me a different harness and tell me that its the one I need. And I asked them if they were sure cause I live about 100 miles away and itd be hell for me to have to drive all the way back to bring this POS back. So they told me that they are pretty sure that it will work and so I walked out paying $16 for it. I get to the girls house, get in her car, grab the connector and I take one look at it and then throw it on the ground. Lo and behold it dont fit.

So now Im out atleast $25 and all the gas Ive drained just trying to find a harness.

Just had to rant.....

Id walk in looking like this....

And then say some cool ninja shit like "You there! I challenge you!"

go back there tell them you want the right harness, you want your money back for the harness, and you want $50 for your gas and time. If they don't do it. I'd straight raise in hell in there and scare off $100s of their sales. Fok it why not, you won't even know anyone there anyways. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The guy seemed to know what he was talking about. People were calling and asking him questions about their car audio and from what I heard he sounded legit. So I figued, ya know maybe this guy has a brain or two. The first one they showed me, he said its the only one in the book for a Celica.

Then he brings me the other one and I look at it all over and it looked legit as well. So I said ok Ill take a chance.

Does the car being a GTS really make any difference?

I dunno if thats the right one. I searched on crutchfield and it said :

# A wiring harness is not available. You will need to splice into the factory wires.

# Bypass your factory amp by running new speaker wires from the stereo to the output side of your factory amp.

The one i posted didn't say anything about GTS and i told crutchield my car was a 2000 Celica GTS and it said there was none apparently.

"This is the only wiring harness that I have foung for the GT-S Celica 8 Speakers/ factory Amp. I bought 2 other wiring harnesses off the web just to have to return them..

DON'T BE FOOLED WHEN THE PACK SAYS 1987-UP... UP DOES NOT INCLUDE THE 2000 GT-S.....

SPEND THE MONEY ON THIS ONE IT IS WORTH IT!! "

Well thats a review a guy posted on car domain about the one you gave me. So...........

seee if u got to metraonline.com they will show what u need http://www.metraonline.com/product.aspx?sku=71-1761. Even scosche has a website that will let you what u need. And if the car has some kinda of factory sound system up grade it will also change the harness. But most toyota's have a seperate amp on the passenger side. so if u look for the amp and find it try pluging the harness in there.

here is the one for scosche http://www.scosche.com/scosche.aspx?ItemID=TA03B&CategoryID=78

but it depends if on how many spearkers the car has.

just remeber this most of the toyota form about 95 up have seperate amps in them. Cus my mom has an 96 avalon xls and it has an amp in it. I was also very frustrated just like you cus 2 places gave the wrong harness. But i got the one that you just refered to. It is really a very easy install.

p.s. I hope her new cd player has 2 sets of preamp outputs if not then u will have to get some Y cables.
