I have to agree. Back in the day (early 90's) we were selling PPI, Phoenix Gold, Alpine, Kicker, Sony ES, etc and the owner decided to bring in Urban Audio and California amplifiers, plus some other cheap head units. I was flabbergasted. I complained. "There goes our reputation" I said.As far as CC carrying Boss gear?
CC is a business. They are not in the business of catering only to "audiophiles."
They are in the business of catering to a majority of the car audio buying public.
All in all Boss moves tons of units annually. Why? Because it's cheap. Yes, all of us here know why it is cheap ~ but the bottom line remains....it is cheap.
Low prices and flashy albeit useless graphics = sales to n00bs.
Protecting their bottom line is the business that they are in - and if picking up another budget (crap) brand assists them in that endeavor can you really blame them?
C'mon folks, be a bit realistic here.
I had a sit down with the boss and he explained it to me like this:
All the reputation in the world won't pay your bills. You got to sell product to stay alive. We can still do the high end installs but we need to do more than that. Installing 4 high end systems a week doesn't pay anyones salary. Installing 100 no-name systems PLUS 4 high end systems does. You have to have a choice for everyone.
I don't see many high end "systems' on this board anyway. I mostly see people with the biggest amplifier they could find pushing the largest subwoofer in a box that looks like an overseas shipping container which may or may not fit in their vehicle. I think even CC could do that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
