ok i alrdy have 72 ft of extreme dynamat most of it in trunk and and some raammat in there as well 65 ft total. My rear deck keeps rattling i cant figure out where maybe it might be something else what can i do its sounding louder then my bass?the outside i dont give a **** about as much as i do the inside any suggestions the rear deck is a cheap thin metal piece but i put several layers of raammat on it alrdy. Is there somthing i can side the car to fix this? Most of my car is alrdy dynamatted.

While you have some music playing listen and find where the rattles are coming from. Hold down and put pressure on the area that you think is rattling, and if it goes away, then you know thats where you need to add extra deadening. Foam weatherstripping works well and I also like to use a caulking gun to apply clear silicone between the seams of plastic panels.

Does your rear deck have any factory plastic clips or screws to hold it down? GF's Cobalt has none and with a single 15" Q it would flap up/down enough to hit the window and sounded like total ***. 3rd brake lights can be a PITA also. I made a wooden plate to bolt mine to the rear deck cover from the underside, helped a ton.

I painted some "fender" washers gray to match and then bolted it down in 4 places. Also deaded the rear deck on both sides and the back side of the cover.

As mentioned, play songs that cause rattling and move around the car and listen, push down on things to find them...

No offense, but Im not understanding why people come here asking for advice how to stop a rattle in their car. At what point should we consider something common sense? We cannot hear or see the car/system, how can we possibly diagnose it? Not to mention, it doesn't take a college degree to figure out how/where to locate rattles in a car and stop them, you just go do it.

Good luck.

He just needed a few ideas.
Im not sure what idea is needed beyond 'go look'. And once you find the two plastic panels that are vibrating together, or the sheetmetal, or whatever... it just doesn't take alot of experience to realize how to make it stop making the noise (place soft material between offending panels).
I mean, I guess giving ideas like expanding foam to someone who may not have thought of it is a good idea, but its not like he was even asking that specific of a question. It was just 'omg my rear deck rattles... help'. Uhm okay...? Its not like we could even give a generic answer (deaden it dude) because he's already done that basic step. At some point you just have to realize you have to dive in, find the rattle, and use the common sense god gave you to make it stop.

Not trying to be an *** here, I dont have to read/reply to the thread. Just trying to light a fire under a few butts around here and show people they dont always have to be spoon fed the info.

I agree with audioholic, but it sounds like a stubborn problem, he's already deadened the offending areas. And it still rattles.

I'd take the rear deck out, listen for rattles, fix any that you find. Check the rear deck out, hit it to see if any part if it rattles, Fix any of those rattles.

Then reinstall the deck, check for rattles, Usually foam rubber blocks or felt pads will fix the problem.

I had a very tough time fixing the rear deck on my Infiniti.

umm hey i got my whole car dynamatted alrdy and most of it in the trunk is double or triple stacked so its kinda hard to find the spot when i push down anywhere it still does it so dont be a ***. I have spent almost 1000 in sound deadener to sotp my rattle so dont say it takes common sense read my ****ing sig.
