I have a 99 Chrysler 300M that has a stock infinity speaker system with stock External amp w/ Stock components in the front and back.
The front mid bass drivers were blown when I bought it so.. I asked for some new speakers for X-mas.
What I got from spouse were two sets of Alpine Type R componets 6.5's for the front and back. The locations will be factory in the doors and the pillars.
To just get my sound back I installed the new midbass drivers from one of the Type R component sets in the front doors and was surprised that this alone gave me a pretty good stock sound.
However, It is my intent to get the full components professionally installed.
My questions for the board are fairly simple.
1) I want to properly power the front and back components. Any recomendations for a good amp for this purpose?
2) I would not mind going ahead and filling in the lows with a good subwoofer. I am not looking for any super loud competition rig here, just a good solid sounding compliment to my components. I am looking for suggestions. I assume a 1 sub solution with amp would be adequate but not sure what to look at here? I am looking for suggestions on a sub w/ amp combo that would mate well with what I have. I am definitely looking for sound quality. Do I need a 10 or 12? Sealed or Ported? Should I stay with a Type R sub?
3) I don't want to build my own enclosure. Any suggestions on a box builder site for the above suggested sub?
4) With the above mentioned gear is a 5 channel amp an option. Again I am a noob so if the board feels a two amp setup is better I am all ears.
I eventually will haul all this equptment in to a local stereo shop I have used before to get it all installed. I just want to make sure I make some wise decisions.
I am not looking at breaking the bank but I don't mind spending some money either. So... Suggestions with a low to midrange budget would be adequate.
I hope I am not asking to much from the board on my first post //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
