Christmas is around the corner

why not look into a single nicer component set. there are a few nice sets out there in the 150 dollar ball park. ia i series 6.5, b2 es6.1i, sundown 6.5.
i was just doing further reading... some people recommend components for the front doors and coaxials for the rear doors... can someone point me in the right direction if this is true?

i don't know the first thing about speakers... i'm more of a subwoofer guy. will my stock electrical be able to handle individually amped components? i'm also running a sub amp at 1100 watts @ 1 ohm. i want to be somewhat efficient lol

Electrical will be fine.

For $100 on all 4, I'd go with the Polks posted above.

To be honest, it's not wise to run 1000-watt sub stage, and power your speakers with a head unit amplifier. No matter how you tune it, this will be unbalanced sound. So first thing to upgrade is to buy a decent 4-channel amplifier. You don't need to buy a crazy expensive amplifier for good sound, but you should avoid some brands on the same level with Dual, Boss, or Jensen just to name a few examples. If you can buy an amplifier before the Black Friday sales expire, this would be a very good deal: Kenwood X450-4 (X450-4) 4-Channel eXcelon Full Range Power Car Amp ($130 as of this moment). Even something very affordable like MB Quart ONX4.80 should work well enough.

There is another reason to buy an amplifier. Most aftermarket speakers simple will not perform to their full potential on head unit power.

I agree 100% with zako. If your not happy with stock sound, just upgrading your speakers will not improve much of anything, especially if your wanting it to sound better at loud volume. Your stock speakers will sound much better at loud volume if hooked up to an amp that can provide more clean power than your head unit (which don't supply much).

that would mean my budget just jumped up about $130 and i financially can't handle that right now.

I would disconnect the rears and just run fronts, it will sound a lot more natural and less colored. Think about going to a concert, there aren't any musicians behind you right? You can always amp them later, but who knows the hu might provide sufficient volume for you, but if you are going to have any kind of substage, then you almost have to amp them if u want to hear them....

with my current substage i can hear volume from my door speakers fine, which is exactly what i want... i figured with higher quality coaxials it would boost my sound quality at least a little bit
