I was looking at quotes from progressive, and a few other insurance companies. I was going to get either, 94' Integra/Celica or a mid to late 90s 626. The ones I wanted to get aren't gonna be more than $5,000. Another thing, is that you guys might be on your parents insurance. I can't get on their insurance, they dont want to take the risk incase I get in a crash.

well thats why it is so high b/c ur on ur own policy if u got on ur parents policy u could get insurance for less than 1000, my insurance is only 500 and sumthin every 6 months

ya know what, my insurance is exactly the same. i lost my license and will b getting it back in a few weeks. since i just bought a cavalier from a dealership and have a loan on it i need full covrage...so i guess my best bet is to work my *** off so in between car, and insurance payments, i can afford to get all my car audio accessories i crave...

I got an insurance quote from Allstate today, and it went down, way the **** down. From $2850/6months, to $587/6months. ******* nice. Theres a catch though. Thats on the lowest possible plan you can get, AND on my parents policy. If I even were to be on my parents policy (shes on the highest highest you can get cause of her job), it'll be like 200 a month. HOWEVER, thats so much better than 480+ a month I would have had going solo.

d@mn, I too pay 2000+ every 6 months. I drive a 2000 Grand AM coupe, black, 2 door (considered sportscar in LA) and I have FULL coverage on my parents insurance, I'm 18 and have good student discount, took drivers ed (required in LA) and I guess thats not so bad considering FULL coverage. Plus LA has one of the highest insurance rates, cuz of all the morons driving WITHOUT insurance. d@mn ppl
