exactly what I want. I want good SQ, with enough SPL to... be noticed more or less.

The 2006 XXX is unmatched when it comes to SQL. It's loud, really loud.

i heard both the XXX and own the RL-p.... if you have the money, hit up the XXX, its just a better sub. but the RL-p in its price range is untouchable.

I've owned an SX XXX and RL-p and i really couldn't make up my mind for sure. I'd probably choose the XXX for bes all around, but Flakko is right for the price the Rl-p is a great deal.

I had to hijack an old thread, because I can't seem to post new ones...

I'm not entirely sure yet, but there's a very decent chance that I'll be getting an 06 xxx.

I see lots of people tossing names around here, but I also realize that some people play w/a limited budget, and sort of "make do" with what they can.

What I'm really interested in would be which models of amps that are high middle to high end amps that would be best for powering an 06 XXX

toxic tuan has a for sale thread with subs and amps and i think the amps he has are powerbass ones that put out 3000 watts, and i think hes asking 375 each for em.

i have owned and listened to both the rl-p (still own) and the old school xxx (sold sometime ago)

the rl-p is the better of the two for sql. especially lower power situations and smaller boxes. IMO, gets lower in same box as the xxx, regardless of box.

the xxx will handle more power, wants a larger box, but will get louder in most cases.

both will get ya noticed. both are good buys, budget, space and power should decide this. under 1500wrms, get the rl-p. over that, get the xxx. same for room, budget. small space,limited budget, rl-p. lots of room, lots of money, get the xxx.

i've not heard the new xxx or the mx, so i have no opinion.

mike at SS is far and away the best person you'll ever deal with online. period.

those are great amps, he was using them in his competition vehicle. i think 3,000 watts is enough but im not sure about the xxx's rms, ask someone else about that. or you could get 2 and strap em for 6000 watts, that would definitely be loud.

I noticed in your sig the amount of money your are going tospend on components..you need tocheck around there are way better components out there,for instance CDTs,DLS,Rainbow, also DIY type components(Dayton,,SEAS,,Peerless..etc.) just to give you a heads up on getting abetter deal for your money and not have to spend as much..btw you really don`t need those 6 x 9`s or no rear speakers at all if you set the front stage right..just look throgh the speaker section in this forum..good luck

most of the money went to the HU and a decent amount went to the amp/wires.

I spent probably 325ish-350 on both sets of speakers together.

I'd go with the SX cause of the decent Efficiency so that you don't have to buy a monsterous amp to run them.
