Trying to decide, build a system for like... 1200 with say 400 dollar subs and maybe 300-400 dollar amp, then a nice headunit for say 200-350 and all my wiring and other stuff for say 50 (Have MDF in the garage). Or keeping the mags I have in the living room and having to save up for an amp that can power em, on top of the head unit. It seems like having such nice subs and not doing the whole competion scene to be a waste. Especially having the 1st system as that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

IDK, in this situation what would yall do. Im worried bout it cuz theres the high chance of shit gettin stolen in my area because dirty bastards in Plano steal everything you have. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

Option A)

Subs: Massive CWs or maybe RE SE/SXs

Amp: Something in 300-400 dollar range

Headunit: Something nice

Which means getting it soon.

Option B)

Subs: Mags

Amp: No clue on cost here, probbly well over 400

Headunit: Still something nice

Means not getting for a while and havin to invest into extreme amount of security...

I guess what Im asking is are they worth the wait (mags). And are there any subs in a lower price range that could compete with them? I guess SQL is what Im after, and sorry to what ever kitten I just killed.

EDIT: Im off to work hope to get some input, BTW I made a second post cuz I figured this was a tad more different than the $400 subs... hopefully I wont be too badly flamed for my impatience when I get back.

go with the cw's, you wont be disappointed, trust me, i have four of them, which i am trying to sell now due to financial situations :-\ if u want to work out a deal, let me know

Anyone else? Im really lost right now.

Does any sub outhere, thats cheaper than a mag, compare to a mag in SQL? I want my subs to sound clean as hell but be able to dish it out if I want it to... for a reasonable price.

For what I would need for the Mags, could you guestimate what I would need?

EDIT: I already have a sheet of 3/4" MDF in the garage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

That sounds expensive, what I originally ment was guestimate price but Im slow tonight and left that part out. So could you guestimate the cost of all that, and PS theres no amp yet. Pleaseee.

I already have 2 Mags in the living room. :p But uh I get your point, dang, expensive. I just cant decide if I should keep em and try and save for all this shit or sell em and build a system with the money Id get.

Right now I have 2 12 Mags and a 300 dollar check.

I remember when I bought the mags I was like oh shit... there goes 6 weeks of work, and should I have paid 900 bucks for 2 subs. But then again I have yet to hear them. And everything I hear about them is good. Jus a tad pricey. Oh well what do I know, lol.

Save it will be worth it. Nothing like car audio and spending all this money and getting it all finished and letting her rip and just feeling great about what youve done and realizing all that money was worth it.
x2

it took me six months saving up to buy my first setup, i was making 100 bux a week, but in the end it was well worth the wait...of course i got a new truck now, and its all got to go for newer, better stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

i got an 04 ranger edge extended cab, im gonna be puttin in 2 15" Fi Q's and an IA 20.1(which i should have sometime next week)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif and i live rowlett/rockwall...

what kind of car is this setup going into?

you should look in to upgrading your alarm/security system... the worst feeling is when you wake up and goto your car in the morning and find out you've been jacked..

you should think about investing $200 into a decent alarm system for some extra insurance on your audio equip.
