Chime in on EA alts

well got ahold of mean green and they have a 200amper for my truck for 369, Dom replied and can do one for 399. My last iraggi alt was great but with all the feedback so far I think I'm going to have to go with mean green, see like good people and good product //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
thats what i thought. all their alts are the same price.

they have mentioned to me they have been having problems with their website, so that could be the reason it isnt updated. i was pretty sure they made an alt for the vehicle, just didnt have it listed.

you can expect 200 hot amps from the mean green too, and no problems with charging at idle. i can bring my rpm's down to about 1-200 before my voltage starts to drop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yeah, going to call mean green here in a few and put in the order. Really need somebody to pick up my sundown 3000 now so I can grab an amp that will match the subs/coils I have :/

I wish they had made one for an Import. my rag is treating me good, but i heard nothing but GREAT things from MeanGreen
i have noticed that. makes me wonder why they dont do anything for the imports.

my GUESS is that the import alts are usually very small compared to most domestics (depending on what brand alt the manufacturer uses. i mean if a domestic mfg, uses an asian made alt, what can you expect, its gonna be smaller too).

getting 200A safely out of a bigger domestic alt that allows more cooling and less restrictive on space, is much easier than getting 200A out of a smaller import alt where your sacrificing the ability to cool and are cramping components in there.

just a guess though.

Yup, maybe they are worried enough about quality they don't want to get in the bizness of making alts with a high failure rate. Luckily the case on my f150 is freakin large.

freakin us americans always trying to make things big as possible and use more space/material/unefficient. i envy the japanese for trying to make things smaller and more efficient as possible.

thats not always a bad thing though.

having a huge case domestic alt, that only does 85A, only leaves extra room for the aftermarket guys to take the same case, and use more efficient parts and squeeze out 300A //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

blah, i honestly dislike domestic cars. Maybe its cause im use to Honda/acura/toyota/nisan too much. everything seems backwards in a GM vehicle. i had a ptcruiser/blazer/probe/etc for rental cars and they were horrible. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif IMHO

but they got the upper hand for having 300a+ altys

check roe
Thanks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

From my research...there are always mixed reviews on EA... From excellent to horrible. But also they're much cheaper than other HO alt companies that I've gotten quotes from. Maybe "you get what you pay for" really applies best when it comes to HO alts.

It is true, my cheapness has bitten me in the *** too many times, and still yet I haven't learned.

Ok, orders in, have a mean-green alt headed my way. Thanks everyone for the input. Hopefully I will be adding myself to the list of happy mean-green customers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
