Chime in on EA alts

Buddy Christ!
I know there are a million threads on EA alts but with their group buy prices I'm tempted to jump in. I can get a 250amper from Nate for almost 200 cheaper than a 200amper from Ohio Gen if they can even make me one, will find out in the morning.

So chime in if you've had an EA alt and its treated you right for a while, or chime in if you've gotten dicked by EA.

Iceteebone, I searched, already know your horror story //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Sorry for the redundancy, just trying to decide where to drop my hard earned cash.

just save yourself the trouble and pick up a mean-green. i, and many others will vouch for their quality.
thats the last place I have to contact, will be doing that tomorrow.

That EA price is nice, I'm just not a big fan of constantly rippin it out if shit goes wrong.

I got a 200amper for my nissan sentra from EA and that POS blew twice in a month. Everything was installed correctly big 3 in 0 gauge and my kinetiks were charged before installation. Funny my system is more reliable with the 70amp stocker

i know. same here. i was thinking of pick up an EA alt way back when. after doing all the research i got scared away for sure.

all of their alts are $369 and are rated at 200A. i believe it is a hot rating though, because i know when nG got his benched it was putting out 218A. so i would assume these would actually be 220A alts if they were rated by another company (save ohio who i think gives a hot and a cold rating).

i havent had a problem with mine. my buddy just picked one up for his explorer as well, after having problems with his motorcity reman one, that i told him to stay away from lol.

I have had my EA alt for AWHILE, I bought it used from a member her and she is running strong still.. I like mine
haha wtf?

nice sig. never seen a sport like that before. doesnt look half bad. not digging the rims but shit, like i said, never seen anyone put too much work into those. i know i havent to mine

I owned an EA alternator when I drove my Buick and never had a problem with it. Although I have heard all of the horror stories about Nathan down there at EA, he treated me fantastically. When I sold the alt to another kid, and he installed it incorrectly and blew a diode, Nathan replaced it for free...

I now own a Mean Green though, and it is a beast. Again, never had a problem.

i have a ea alt in my van i have had it since oct last year and ive never had a problem that was of the alts fault, had a problem once that turned out to be a bad voltage regulator on my van not the alt. i recomend ea to anyone imo affordable and durable

for you mean green folks...did you have to go through a dealer, or direct through mean green?

ps. thanks for everyone's replies so far. For some reason a thousand dollar amp is easy to figure out, yet a 4 to 500 alt seems to be a much tougher decision :/

They are my old wheels, I had 550 in the and sold them to her for 1100.. She painted it right after she bought it from me. Now I have some universal 6 lug 4's with nothing to put them on haha...
