Nothing gay here, sorry to disappoint.

Heres the deal, im going to run a PPI art series 2075am to 2 12" cvrs at 4ohm bridged. My highs are DA m6i off a jbl 250gts at 2 x 50.

These are the rated output for the ppi which is a 12v so im guessing 500rms.

Output Power at 12V:

2 x 75w rms at 4 ohms

2 x 150w rms at 2 ohms

1 x 300w rms at 4 ohms bridged

Fuse: 25A

Manufactured in 1990 to 1992

I have half installed my wiring and planned a dist block with 1- 4g into 2-8ga, on to each amp. After reading the wiring size sticky im not sure if i have enough wire.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Ditch the 8 and runs two 4's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You would be OK, But if money is not a problem, then you could run 1/0 distro block that goes into two 4ga or just another run of 4ga for both amps

Why is it not considered an art series? I cant find any indepth info abou these amps. I know there underrated a bit, stoutly made and great SQ...thats about all. With the above rating what do you think im looking at in output?

So 8 ga is the only way to run it, correct? This is enough wire in bridged mode?

It has fins on it, right? The AM series, which you have, had a normal heatsink with fins. They were available in white with the pastel geometric designs on them, or satin black with gloss black and red graphics. The Art Series of amps (they were an actual series) had a smooth design with one side being triangular and the other being round. They were also available in white with geometric graphics and satin black with gloss black and red graphics. They also had plug connectors for power and speaker wiring. Being white with graphics does not make it an Art Series amp since 1) not all white PPI amps were Art series and 2) not all Art Series were white.

This is an Art Series.

This is what I'm assuming you have.

I have seen the cosmetic differences that you're talking about, but that does not seem like a great distinction to make it an art series. I was under the assumption that the art series meant an era of ppi in which quality, underratted power machines were made.

Is there something else internally that makes the ART series your talking bout substantially superior to the other? As i said i cant find much info on these amps so keep it coming //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The differences are total. The only similarity is the paint scheme. The design of the amp is different. The components used in the amp are different. The Art series were easier to install because of the incorporation of removable set-screw type plugs for the power and speaker connections. The Art series also had a built in fuse to protect the amp.

Your amp predated the Art Series. The PowerClass amps came after. The DEI buyout ended the PowerClass and what has come since just isn't the same.
