Figuring up the port area im shooting for a tune in the area of 30-32 hz. I am going to be running the threaded rod today.

Enclosure if for 2 HDC3 15s in place of the back seat of a dodge ram. utilizing an aq3500 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif gotta love deployment money.

Using an 8 inch port it just seems like the recommended 8.6 inch length is too short....But ive run it numerous times..and thats what i keep coming up with.

Internal dimensions of the box are

53 inches wide x 21.75 inches high x 17.5 inches deep. Netting me around 11.67 and with woofer displacement i lose another .46 for the pair. so starting with 11.31 cubes. He wants it tuned low, but im worried about the amount of port area.

It is possible with the single 8 to tune to 26 (Way too low) but to tune to about 32 hz its calling for a ~6 inch length.

Can someone rerun these numbers and ive a recommendation? im not above cutting the sircle out and running a slot port itll just be painful as its double baffled lol but either way, recommendations. thx.

If it is indeed a round port, with a length of 8.6" your tuning is 29.4 hz. 6" gets you to 32 hz. 4" gets you to 35 hz. 2" gets you around 40 hz. Good luck.

Single 8" for the shared chamber or separate? If that's one 8" for roughly 11 cubes that pretty low on port area.
Yes indeed it is. It is 4.5"^2 per cubic foot. Not at all ideal. He didn't ask for suggestions, but I would say ditch the aero. Go with a port of 5h x 30w x 18d. This will tune at 37-38hz which is usually desirable for AQ/DD subs.
