Cheapest 2000 rms sub setup

With the hdc3 I'm sure you can reach full output with 2kw and get suprisingly nice results. It's 90% in the install. I went to single big sub setups on 2kw+ years ago and never looked back. If you get a properly built ported box, good amp, 1/0awg all arund, and an extra battery then you should be fine.

Or get a btl 15, throw it 2-3kw and call it a day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Many spl subs can get retarded loud AND sound incredibly clean and musical with the right box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

How much would a box run me...lets sahy for the hdc3 15"

"I'm kinda thinking a pair of SSA ICON 12's or FI Q 12's now."

those are great for $250 a sub they take the power well and sound great - if you just want a cheap system you could go with 2 15" type R

pair of type R for same price as one of the SSA or FI

Sinlge AQ HDC3 from 10" to 18" range from $219 - 289 per sub but they can take the 2k pretty easily.

AQ 2200watt $389

So they hdc3 copper can take 2k rms? or just the alum.

i had a memphis 4k @ 1 ohm on a pair of copper hdc3s for about 6 months before one started making coil rubbing noises at the extreme peaks of its excursion. reconed to aluminums, and dont expect to have any problems.
