Cheaper sounds better?

At best buy todayi was testing out their pioneer 6x9 see which model i should get. I used the TS-A6980R(120$) to see how the lower end ones compared. The TS-A6970R(100) sounded so much better and i was glad to hear something better for less. Then i tried the TS-A6960R(80) and i was suprised how clearer everything was bassier and louder then the other two. Could this be the wiring or should i just order the TS-A6960R off ebay and save myself a bunch?

it could have been a number of things...

first thing you ahve to realize is hta ta sound board at Best Buy will sound NOTHING like your car... nothing at all... secondly, what power was running to them? thirdly, how much are you talking about?

It's Best Buy. You're listening to the speakers in a big open space, and you have no idea what is powering them. You need to listen to the speakers in your car using your respective power source to get a realistic idea of how each speaker performs. When I used to work at Best Buy, they did some sneaky stuff.
