Cheap way to lift 200+ LBS?

um. what are you wanting to do exactally? i dont understand why you wanna lift\lower your box. you just wanna be able to remove it from the trunk and install it whenever ya want? is that it?

not to remove it. my main problem is that it fits vey snug in the back of my car. now i have a port plug and because its so snug i cant remove it because it hits part of the car. so if i can raise it straight up on a platform above the parts of the car that it hits when i try to remove the plug then i can remove or install the plug withough taking the box in and out of the car. this way if i am at wherever and say i want to show someone how loud my system can get i can do so without the help of friends and right there on the sopt.

Liniar actuators will run about $120 per actuator and can lift 250lbs each but its a bit over my budget.

rent an engine jack stand if you can (im not aware of the 'proper' mechanics term for it )Its a pulley system on wheels.

i have a better solution:

just build a new box and relocate the port. That would be 10x less work and money.

you could try sticking a bottle jack in the spare tire well, but I dont know how far up you need the box lifted.

i need the box to lift about 2 or 3 feet. how about some kind of air shock with a minni compressor?
