HahHahHahHahHah. we went to circuit city and bought a Baja 10" sub. we hooked it up to a Kicker ZR 240 (which was bench tested @ like 360 max), and the thing blew. It wasn't totally finished however, untill we hooked it up to my 1000 watt PPI. Man did that thing smell BAD. It still moves. but alas, tomorrow is yet another day, and 1 minute of bass mekanik should just put that sub in it's final resting place.

It's much much fun for like 50 bucks, and you can blow as many of them as you want. the guy @ circuit city even asked us to come down so he could watch it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. we did this to some road gear 6x9's and put the woofer excursion test on them and they last a while the 6x9 was hopping up and down.

On the subject of torturing audio equiptment, i'm reminded of my first attempt at car audio. I actually got talked into a pair of 8" jensen bass cannons by a CC salesman ("the enclosure makes them sound like a pair of 12's at least!"). I was complaining to a friend that i was sick of the bass cannons after a week of owning them, and that i wish i had a reason to take them back to circut city. He suggested that we cook them with his Audio Art 100HC and take them back. We'd have a valid reason because they were rated at 300w each, and the amp was (VERY) conservativly rated at 50w x 2 @ 4 ohms. Long story short, those cannons cooked like hot dogs on the fourth of july. They hit louder than any other jensen bass cannons i've ever heard for about 30 seconds, then seperated both cones COMPLETELY from the cheap-*** foam surround. I got my money back and invested in a much better system.

Cut tha surrounds witha knife right where it meets tha basket and use some masking tape to mak a "breakable" surround. This keeps the cone soemwhat on thw magnet but blows tha coil tha **** up!!!.
