Cheap Power Cables

If anyonebody wants power cables cheap but they are great go to weldingsupply.com. They are the same wires as streetwires, the only difference is the coating outside. The welding wires look ugly while the streetwires do not. So if you are not looking to compete in competitions i suggest buying from WeldingSupplys. All you have to do is buy a fuse block(KnukonceptZ is where i got mine). I will soon try to post pics. I just ordered mine. but i saw this on my friends Tahoe he showed me and proved to me by comparing them..

Does any one know what fuse size i should get. i have an RE SX 15" hooked to an eD NINe 1 im setting it to 1200watts rms @ 2ohms. i need to know, im thinking either 120A or 150A. If anyone can help me i will greately appreciative.

what wire are you running/gauge thats what determines the fuse...your protection your wire from melting/starting a fire. So find out the max. amp of the wire and max the fuse to that...

^ That may protect the wire, but not the amp. Your logic serves only to determine how the wire should be fused to protect it thermally, and it's based on the length and AWG.

A 250amp fuse is way too big. Maximum current draw for an eD 9.1 is 130 amps, which should happen almost never. Use an 80 to 100 amp fuse. 2 AWG is plenty fat for a run inside the car.

If you'll be using more amplifiers, you may need to up the fuse, but honestly, it's doubtful. A 100 amp fuse doesn't blow at 100 amps, you must exceed the rating by some percentage to break the circuit.

Sideline, I run an 80 amp fuse in my setup; It's a sub amp, capable of 2410rms @ 1 ohm, running more like 800@2, and a Phoenix Gold m50 - I can crank it until my car drops to a very low voltage without popping any fuses.

A regular alternator and battery won't have enough oomph to pop a 250a fuse unless you short it out while the car is running. Better safe with a smaller fuse.

indeed weldingsupply is the shit. 66 cents a foot for 1/0 gauge. ordered my wire on monday and got it on wednesday. it is very flexible unlike the popular belief (yes i know it's old news)

**edit** that 66 cents a foot was for 4 gauge not 1/0 gauge. the 1/0 gauge is like $1.39. still cheap.
