Ok so I've been all over the place with adding a sub into my car, at first I was told I need the PAC-CHY23A harness, bought it, (100$) and it allows rca outs, but is far too weak, and at the same time disables any adjustment of my stock kicker speakers in the front\rear\dash, so all you get is bass and shrill music, took it out.
Spliced into my stock sub wiring, did high level into kicker, too weak of a signal, so I bought what I had in my last car (FJ Cruiser) an Audio Control line driver, LC2i, I only have one - and + coming from the stock wiring so I just wired that into two negs, two positives, and in it went into the LC2i.
Now I can keep my gains down big time, but I'm quite confused about the LC2i, it's manual tells you nothing about the bass and main "adjustments", I plan to set accubass threshold to max as I think I get a flat signal anyway, but when I bump up the bass\main controls it can easily put my amplifier into protection mode. Right now it seems "safe" and the controls on the Audio Control line driver, (main and bass) are about 3\4th the way up, gain on the amp is about half way up, does this seem like a safe setting?
A light on the LC2i is supposed to light up green saying "maxamized" it is plenty loud, and I have the HU bass on 2 rather than 9, but EVEN if I crank up the bass\main all the way to max (which will make my amp hit protection mode) the maxamize light NEVER comes on, on my old Audio Control matrix you just turned ONE gain dial on the line driver up and 5 diff lights would tell you the voltage you were at, I'm not getting ANY green light on the LC2i, but it is def beefing up the signal big time.
Any ideas on what would be best? MY 750.1 is actually putting out 936w RMS (birth sheet) and I figure line driver 3\4th up on bass and main (still not sure they they are separate controls) and amp gain only half way is safe (bass boost on amp is maybe 1\4th up maybe a tad more), but I really don't want to blow anything, and you guys are the pros, so any advice would be very appreciated! Also can anyone actually explain ACCUBASS, it sounds like if you set it fully clockwise you use it as a "bass booster" as well...which dosen't make sense when I already have a BASS knob on the line driver, and I still don't grasp what the heck "MAIN" is, Audio Control literally includes no manual and their online one barely explains ACCUBASS.
