alright so currently i have hifonics zeus zxi speakers (component set) 6.5s with 2 12mm hifonics tweeters. i love the tweets but the mids are to quiet. so i am looking to replace them with some better 6.5 components for the front and just keep the rears hifonics just for rear fill.

my range is about about 150$, i can go a little more but i want to keep it around there. so whats a set that will blow my mind?

thanks in advanced

If you havent already deaden and seal your doors with deadener and CCF. That will make a much more noticeable difference than swapping mids. You can have the best mids in the world, but without the proper treatment they will still not sound that good.

I really should have thought of that. I'm not experienced with installing deadening, at all. I'll look up how to do that and I will get some. how can I seal the door tho? the speaker just screws into the plastic piece that is mounted to the holo door...

Its not very hard. Basically sealing up a door you cover the holes in the panels and sheet metal. The closed cell foam is to keep panels from vibrating against each other.

Dont skimp on product here either. Peel and seal at Home Depot is not what you want to use. You want a quality deadener like Second Skin or Sound Deadener Showdown. This is one of those things you get what you pay for.

Not the same quality. The knowledge along from AT is mediocre at best. The product tested was a biased test as well that proved nothing.
I was not the one who did the acoustical testing of Audio Technix 60 mil and Second Skin Damp. There is nothing biased about that test. It was done by a third party that has tested 100's of different deadeners and is very reputable in the industry.

I will admit I am not as knowledgeable as Don from SDS when it comes to deadener but I still know more than the average Joe.

He didn't even do the acoustical testing... It was done by a 3rd party that has tested over a 100 types of deadener and is very reputable.

Except you paid for the test. You think paying for the test to be done as the owner of AT that the test isnt going to be biased towards AT? The tester has no incentive what so ever to give SS good results, but as a paying tester they have a reason to make sure you do relatively well so you repeat service.
