From what I have see/heard...CV is just riding the old "Stroker Pro" name.

Yes, in its day the Stroker was amazing. But the new Stroker Pro is $1600 of waste.

We had a chance to pick up CV at the shop I work for....After looking at price/performance, we didnt bite.

IIRC, the new Stroker Pro uses Split-Coil...so its prolly a has descent excursion and SQ. But its is made out to be an all out SPL sub. Our rep came by pretty much saying it was an be-all-end-all SPL sub...they I asked why CV recomended a sealed box. He couldn't even begin to answer it (correctly)...just a bunch of BS.

I'm sure its a decent sub...but for $1600, not a chance I would touch it. Hell at $500 I would have a hard time.

The front "voice coil" was a spider with an adjustment knob to fine tune the sub, this was also a weak point since every sub that I played with would tear along this area. I stuck with the old school XL series because its easer to replace the surround than the entire cone.

CV NEVER SHOULD HAVE BUILT THE STROKER PRO, THE ORIGINAL STROKER WAS A BEAST. NAME ME ANY OTHER SUB THAT WENT A DECADE WITH NO MAJOR DESIGN CHANGES...ANYONE? DON'T WORRY, I'LL WAIT.
