I have these speakers in the back of my car and I love them! Though my car fits 6x8s, these things have no problem filling the role of a midbass. They have three independent voice coils and three drivers, with built in crossovers.
The most attractive feature, in my opinion, is the metal cone. Using a process similar to applying chrome to plastic, the cone of the HED series is metal.
HED=high energy design!
Though they take 50watts RMS and 110 peak, they do well for an upper middle class sound system with several amplifiers.
