centering the sub

Originally posted by chaz7979 I know that...but think if you weren't on a seat??? Think if your car had no shocks???? Don't you think that would be worse? That's my point...putting the amp on rubber mounting blocks would drastically cut down on the vibration. Just like the shocks on you car.
go ahead man------but there isn't any reason to

they are------if your worried don't put the amp in your car because no matter how you mount it ---it will vibrate like hell----esp if you have subs

It also makes it EZ for someone to take your system if they brake into your car. I have seen it way too many times. I sell car audio:nono: one thing to grab and less time in your car. if you put it somewhere else that is more time some little punk needs to grab your stuff DON'T HELP THEM OUT!!!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

Well i just got my speakers back and my new box. i'd love to see someone try and grab my ****. i hope the have at least 3 people and the right tools cus its gunna be hard to snap that 0 gauge wire or unhook all the wires hooked to my cap. especially in the dark. But yeah i can see it being easier than if it were spread around. Besides that my box is a perfect fit for my trunk. a little too big, you have to really pull to get it out cus its literraly pressed into the side walls of my little escort. I think the easiest way to steal my system would be just hot wire my car and steal it, the system is almost worth as much as the car.. as a trade in the car is worth less than the system actually.

buy **** i would be pissed if my **** got stolen it sounds sooo nice now. i just need 1 more sub and i'm happy (got a box for 3 subs and only have 2 of them now.

So should I just take the shocks and springs off my jeep? Cause it's going to shake and vibrate anyway?

no--- rather you get 2 sets of air ride shocks --huge tires and suspend your amp in some space age non conducting gel in a tub dampened by memory foam----don't leave the ECU, dash gauges, radio, spark plug coil, injectors and random sensors in that harsh vibration either---hope no one has any tube amps---- that would require some computer controled counter weight dampened system design by NASA

What your saying is there is nothing you can do to completely stop it so why bother trying. But that is asinine, if something is bad, reducing it would be good. That's why they put bushings, spacers, and shocks on cars. They didn't say aww #@$% it, it's going to vibrate anyway so lets take out the shocks and sit them on concrete seats //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

if you want to stop it DON'T PUT IT IN tHE CAR. It's just an amp man. Not a bucket of nitroglycerin The rest of the electronics last 10+ years in the car. PLUS your putting subs in there too. So no matter how good you mout the thing the subs are just going to vibrate the hell out of it

Well I've tried all morning to stop it but for some reason when I drive my car I can still feel all the bumps in the road, so instead of getting new shocks like I know I need I'm going to instead replace the shocks with $.10 pieces of steel pipe cause there are more important things to worry about.

don't forget solid motor mounts:D

If you ever decide to get new shocks(which is a good idea) - Nitrogen filled shocks or airbags really makes the ride smoother when daily driving.

Be sure to see the sub specs. It should tell you the ideal sealed enclosure size.
