Censorship in the Dome??

The funny part about it? This thread was that very point, censorship. The point is how there are rules in the Thunderdome (off-topic) forum. Why have a sticky with rules? That like rules on freedom of speech.Play ball.

Quit playing stupid, troll. You've been here 8 months, you knew this forum had *gasp* rules.

But, now that you know, all official and everything, I guess we mods can come down on you like a ton of bricks if you break one.

What rule did I break? Defamation and slander implies that I somehow took away your frame and made you look bad in a public forum. That has no merit on a car audio forum on the Internet. This is the internet, not real life. If you threaten to moderate me, especially here, that will only further my point on censorship.

You cant even keep up. You said freedom of speech has no rules just like the Thunderdome shouldnt. I pointed out defamation and slander are rules that inhibit freedom of speech thus you proved our point.

"Defamation" and "slander" are terms that were coined by lawyers in lawsuits. I can guarantee you from personal experience that you can publish in a book, newspaper and otherwise just how much you "don't like" someone and site the reasons why WELL within the rights of the 'law'.......which isn't exactly a law upheld in court.

If you would like specific laws or reasons for the outcome of a trial, I would be willing to donate some of my time for this cause.

The point is, until I am actually calling someone names and harassing them, there is no harm done. Only education.

Terms created that limit freedom of speech. You cant walk up to some guy and trash him and tell the whole town hes a jerk, a scammer, and a ******. He could legally sue you for slander and defamation and he would win in court. Thats a limit on freedom of speech.

You know,

someone owns this site. That owner OWNS this site, its his and his alone. He is aloud to make whatever rules he pleases to being it HIS site.

If the owner of this site dose not want a certain word or words said in HIS site, then that is how it will be for HIS site.

Just like I am aloud to make what ever rules I feel like for my home just as anyone can. If a rule of my home is broken, then I can take

what ever action I feel necessary to deal with that. Just as the owner of this site can as well.

There is censor ship in every part of our lives. At work, in public and even on line. Weather someone likes it or not, there are rules for this privately

owned site. If you dont like them, dont come here. Censorship or not. Just like if I do not like the rules of someone's home, a park, a business...

I can just not go there.

I have the right to tell people they cannot say the N word in my home just like the owner of this site has, just like you and every one else has.

This site is privately owned and the owner can make what ever rules he sees fit for his property.

That's not the whole point. I don't care about using the N word, which is stupid that I even have to say "N word".....
The point is that you are attacking me on an internet forum and saying that if I say anything to disagree with people that somehow becomes slander and defamation of character? With no names called? The only one who is making money off this is "Goob" or whoever actually owns this site. If anyone could even stand to be an ounce of crispy, it would be him. I don't see him moderating anyone that calls everyone "ghey", "fegs", "niqqa", etc getting moderated......!

But on your last point,

Its Goob's site and if the other words dont bother him then so be it. Again, its his site and his rules.

He has Mods here whom do the moderating for him based on the rules that he set in place.

VWBobby, your trolling this topic is done. You started this thread to discuss the 'censorship' of threads and posts that have been deleted, but later in the thread claim you were not aware "rules" existed here. Every deletion, like your reply I just had to delete, comes with a reason. The reason refers to the rule that was broken to cause the deletion. You now have 2 infractions, one more will result in an auto-ban. If its me that sees you break a rule again, I will double the ban time. Go try to instigate a 'we should be able to say anything we want' riot somewhere else. There are rules here, if you dont like them, leave. If you stay, an dont obey them, you will be forced to leave. Its just that simple. End of discussion.

Im going to close this thread, since its going nowhere but arguing in circles with one or two people simply because they refuse to concede the legitimacy of the rules here. Make a new thread to continue this VWBobby, and I will consider that breaking MY rule. Dont like it? PM Goob.
