Yep, and not allowing a person to scream "FIRE!" in a crowded theater can be called censorship if the speaker is simply looking for any foot hold to label it as such. Again, your only concrete examples were not closed, and the examples in this reply are vague at best.

You must have missed it, but we addressed this issue already a couple weeks ago. Nobody gets in trouble here for bypassing the swear filter. Like whitedragon said, its a simple matter of logistics that the filter chooses what it does to disallow. Im starting to lose focus of what this thread is about, us 'censoring' too much, or us not censoring words the filter does. I know you aren't the one who made this thread or said we are 'censoring' too much here, but I think you can see where the argument in this thread seems to be coming at the mods from both sides of the point.

In the real world, most people here who use to throw the N word around all the time would not dream of doing it in the presence of black people who they dont know, like they use to do here. In the real world, you dont get to say anything you want. In the real world, people wouldn't tell someone to 'go die' just to see if they can piss them off. In the real world, there are much more realistic consequences for acting like an immature, racist, or arrogant person, so people police themselves MUCH more closely. In the real world there are plenty of situations in which using the N word, and MANY other terms we still allow here, are not allowed. In the right circumstances, using such words can get someone punched in the face at best, and arrested (for slander) at worst. Dont lecture me/us about the real world, you seem to know very little about it.
Already addressed. But just like the rule, you refuse to let it go, want to argue and argue until 1) we cave and accept your personal view, or 2) you are basically forced to drop it by way of realizing there will be consequences for not doing so. You, and everyone else, we warned way more times than should have been necessary, to let it go. But you refused to drop it, and now want to cry foul that *gasp* you had to accept that your personal view does not trump the site owner's. You continuing to refuse to understand the decision to ban the word, and your attempt to simply boil it down to it means the mod staff is calling you a racist, merely highlights your inability to discuss this point rationally and maturely. Even your absurd 'reverse discrimination victim' sig, as untrue (and frankly stupid) as it is, is STILL allowed here. So take your censorship argument somewhere else, it holds no water here.
This. If some people here would handle things more maturely, the mod staff wouldn't have to be put in the position of drawing a line. But as usual, several people here always have to push their boundaries like a child finding out how much they can get away with before mom spanks them, and then wants to cry like that child when they go too far and face the (relatively minor) consequences.
