Cellular Mute

When I was looking at Head Units to buy, I noticed on one site for the Pioneer DEH-860MP that it said it had Cellular Mute. I'm under the impression there is a setting somewhere that when I receive a call, the deck will automatically mute/pause? Is this the case with this deck. If so, how do I enable it. I'm stuck at work, and left the manual at home.

I know what you are talking about my HU has that feature too. I think though you have to have those big phones that they install in your car for that to work, I'm not sure though so dont hold me to it.

I was hoping it would be for a regular cell phone. I miss so many calls when I'm driving around because of not hearing, or feeling the stupid thing vibrate. Looks like I'm gonna have to tone down the sound. Ha, yeah right!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I'm not a pro. but i think you need a phone dock. My friend got one installed on his car..(stock stereo tho) and when he gets a call stereo mutes. I think on some stereos there's a wire that you would attach to the phone dock.

I'm just assuming this... but it could be the possible answer for you.

something like that but better and for your phone. and make sure you can hook it up to your car stereo.

But it's ok to drive around with a big*** stereo distracting you? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

You aren't actively thinking about the stereo while it's on...on a phone call, even hands-free, you're actively engaged in a conversation.

Sorry for the opinion, but I don't like the use of cell phones while driving.

Jesus Christ guys.

You don't need a $125 phone dock. And you don't need a car phone.

You only need a $35 Pioneer cell phone mute add on module:

Works wirelessly with your phone. For this reason, it will also mute when a call is received to or made from any cell phone in the car, not just yours.

I had one. Worked great. It will automatically mute when you receive an incoming call or when you call out, and automatically unmute when you hang up.

Only word of advice is that when it mutes, turn down/attenuate the volume on your HU. Because when it unmutes (when you hang up), the stereo will instantly start playing at the pre-mute volume unless you turn it down. I got the chit scared out of me a few times when the stereo kicked back on full blast.

****, I wish I would of seen that when I bought my head unit...time to rip it back out and add another wire.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I said it before, and I'll say it again.

They only use 1900mhz...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif
