CDTs not getting all that loud

they are loud and all but I have the gains on my amp all the way down and Im stil getting the right voltage for the amp at volume of 46 with a test tone. It doesnt seem really loud at 46 though. sqrt(4 ohms x 150 w) is about 24.5v which is what I want to sue for my amp that does 150x2 at 4 ohms right?

I did all the steps in the proper door sound deadening except for sealing off the front of the door, I plan on doing it tomorrow. Will that make it louder?

Try upping the gains a tad-bit. My CDTs off 150w (with gain set by ear) get pretty loud and sound good. Since you have deadened doors, they should be louder + sound better than mine (no deadening)

I mean they get pretty loud but far from painful loud, honestly not much louder than stock. I have yet to hear a bad sound come from them though.

My H/U has really weak preouts, is it normal for an amp to be maxed out with the gains all the way down like this? I have an old Pioneer with 2v pre-outs and a Profile CA600 amp

I mean covering up all the holes with some aluminum sheetmetal stuff and sound deadening all over it.

I have egg carton foam behind it and a nice seal around it (like they did with clay in the sound deadening thread). I have the outside door skin deadened and thats it.

Alright Ill turn my gains up

clean sound often doesnt seem to be to loud till someone tries talking to u and you cant hear them or your sub seems like it is weak //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

dingdingding. Many people subconsciously associate 'loud' with 'painfully ****ed up shitty sounding noise that is horribly distorted'... when things get loud without distorting their minds subconsciously think, 'that's not so loud. wtf.', then you yell something and your voice is totally swamped out by the sound and you realise...ok so it's loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
