I've got 'em in kicks...and well, they're excellent above 110 hertz....
Maybe I just didn't build mine right or whatever, but I can't say that I like the midbass response out of kicks. I've even made a 1.5 inch hole at the bottom of 'em to serve as a vent. And while it definitely helped, still not satisfied.
With the vent in there, and holding the kicks in my hand with the speakers' cones facing me, it sounds like I think it should, however, placing them down on the floor it gets worse. When holding them, the midbass (80hz) is full and warm, but when putting them back on the floor, it sounds more "buzzy" and not as warm...hard to explain...
But I've got the LP1 attenuator on the way (used in the IEK) and am gonna hook the tweeters up from my old CL-61s into them...haven't decided where to put them. I'll let youknow how it goes (and let me know what you decide to do too!).
