CDT going cheap on quality?

My driver side tweeter went out yesterday. i thought it was a wire that came loose so i opened up my door and took a look as well as in the trunk and nothing. so i did some trouble shooting an turns out my crossover is out. i just got a new pair of the ef series comps from woofersect.com which they are awsome, but cdt i'm not that impressed with anymore. has anyone else had this problem? i'm using my old alpine xovers for now so i can have some tunes while i drive but I just think that compared to my first cdt comps from years ago they seem more flimsy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I have been running the HD 52's for some time now, the mid seems pretty solid but needs a LOT of airspace and the tweeter is "cheap" sounding according to several SQ judges.

considering where you bought it from, unless stated or upgraded you got the Satnet 400 crossover which is the lowest line crossver available. I would atleast get the satnet480 or better yet the 560.

thanks for the input guys. Its just sad how a pair of old alpine type r xovers i had laying around seem to be built more solid. I really dont want to spend money on just a pair of xovers but I think i'm gonna give morel a try.

as alter said, the website is your issue. 560's are the way to go...400's haven't even been made in a while. woofers throws them in there to save costs on their end.

Good choice on the Morel. I think you would be more than happy with those.

the 480 crosover i have seems to be built very well

the crossover switch felt very "rugged" when i was switching the +3/-3 switch

I agree ,you may have got a lower end crossover.

Every brand makes a lower line,no big deal
