Im with mylows10, I like those CDT's and even if it is just the 3yr Woofers etc warranty, I would rather have that than the 1yr warranty on the ID's

this all day, but if bought from me or cdt the warranty is 10 years on the es gold models.materials and workmanship ,just like everyone

What do you mean if bought by you? I would assume from a dealer these go from $329 right up to $699...

the "suggested retail" is just there to make it look like you're getting a deal.
the price is the price. recognize that both the mfr and the seller make the profit they desire at the "sale price". it's a marketing trick.
independent dealers (members on this forum) buy at a price and sell at a price (at a profit) just like a store - at a similar or better price point.
i'm fine with direct sale companies and the individuals that rep them.
i like what ID does. very robust speakers.

The suggested retail price point I had thought was a marketing gimmick but someone had posted something about it so thats why I brought it up...
How big of a deal should be made out of warranties? I imagine some would use that as a reason to hike prices over the internet direct dealers...

well, i do not gain from whatever you purchase. I can say this, I have bought batteries, amps, speakers, etc. through Woofers etc. over the the last several years and have yet to have a problem or need customer service. Same with Sonic and a few others.

I do believe in warranties, especially locally.
On the Scion we had a Mille 165 woofer start making noises, a year after install. Took it into the local shop we bought them from, and they handed us a brand new driver. Removal, drive, swap, drive, removal was one hour.

I dont have a local store that sells any of there brands...The only brand I can see on any of the local websites is Focal...

yea, well when the local shop's high end line is low end Diamond, Powerbass or Db Drive...or drive 60 miles to look at Rockford Fosgate, Resonant Engineering or Soundstream....well, I love Woofers etc...lol.

I just called a local shop and he said there is zero market for higher end stuff. He said he could get in hertz and 1 shop has focal Nobody would have any image dynamics or rainbow...

Called the local competition and they only carry focal and they have the V30 in stock along with access...
So you can see I am Very limited...
same place with focal has arc audio black series told me to come listen to each. Focal V30 were $550 and full sound deadening front doors would be $150
