CDT CL-61a VS Alpine SPS-171A

I currently own the CDt's but they really dont have any low end freq at all... its really minimal(not that it matters anyways because of the ridiculous L7 in the rear) so midbass isnt a concern to me, but I dont have a rear fill and I was looking to get one. I can get the SPS-171a's for $70 (which is a bomb *** price...) WHich would be better for my frontstage? I have all the power needed with the kicker 650.4

WHat would you do? I really dont want to spend $200 on a set of comps....I really just trying to find a good set of comps at work that are on disco..lol last years models but I hear these things are pretty nice

Sorry, but I am very confused about what you are wanting to do and what you are asking.

You are not happy with the low end frequency of your CDT's -- but low end is not a concern.

You were thinking of getting rear fill but you didn't.

So you want to know if you should by the Alpines?

I am really not trying to be a smartass here.

No.... no... right now I dont have a rear fill and I want one...because im pretty much not even using the rear 2 channels on the amp I have now. I dont really care about low end freq....(my cdts dont give any anyways) so im not sure if I should keep my CDt's in the front and put the alpines in the rear, or switch them?.....or not even buy the alpines at all(for ONLY 70 bucks barely used) and just swap the CDt's to the rear and buy a whole new better comp set then the alpines...I hope I cleared it all up

Why not get them, install them, and then decide which set you like more?

Put the set you don't like in the rear. I haven't heard either so I really cant help other then that.

Im trying to get some opinions on the set... because I can get them for $70(which is pretty cheap)...

If I dont end up using them for my car, ill use them in a friends car or somethin I dunno..

I have the 61a's. Great set. Overall sound is good. Midbass is lacking slightly, but the highs are very nice. I'm running around 80rms to them and no problems. My buddy has some alpines in his truck. Not sure what set, decent overall sound but I don't think it compares to my comps.

Now that isn't apples to apples because he is running off his headunit and I am running a TRU tech. amp to it.
