well, i just finished a long and tedious install of my comps that i had sittin around for a couple of weeks. i have a set of the es 07.3 and the es 07.1 comps in my car now and they are completely astounding. in a fully dynamatted(sp?) car i rolled the windows up and walked 100 ft away from the car and could still hear every last detail of the music, down to exactly when the drumsticks would hit the cymbals. best part is, at that volume, there was absolutely NO distortion.

these speakers get a HUGE thumbs up from me.

oh, and tplaya07 is absolutely amazing for the deal he got on them for me. thanks again, man

all together it was 1400 shipped, but tplaya pulled a string or two to get that price. the sets retail for a total of 3500.

and i have 300 watts rms going to the fronts, and 120 watts rms to the rears. i know the rears are a lil underpowered, but i had the amp sittin at home, and i love the setup the way it is anyway...i actually had to turn down the gain on the small amp even more so the rears wouldn't overpower the fronts.

but everything is all tuned and done, and i sounds completely astounding. my friend thom said it sounds better/clearer than his home setup that he hand built piece by piece, and i've heard that system, it's really nice.

awesome awesome awesome speakers.

told ya they are awesome!!!!

a bit pricey though

but if they are installed right, and given the power along with a sweet online sale (djdillidon)

they are worth it IMO

if I could have afforeded to run the 3way I would have never sold my 7" miss em though!!

first time I sold a item and I missed it

No matter how nice the speakers are, I would never drop that much coin on a set of speakers....well let me refrain from that statement...I meant car audio speakers....now a nice home theater set like Bang & Olufsen or Paradigm, yes.

Whats up NewTitan, you are on as many **** forums as I am. Still havent gotten those LPG tweeters installed yet. Waiting on some 6.5" Silver Flutes I bought to come in. Do you have any more ideas for your door speaker pods?

I'm getting horns and 2 xxx mids in each door, and it's still less that that set. For 1400 it better give me a bj every time i turn the stereo on

I think I would have chosen to do the horns, beefy mids and eq's also.

yeah i like different forums as I like to get as much info as possible before I buy most stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

still designing the door panels man, I think I will have to bring them out 1" since the XLS is over 8.9" around and my lower panel is only 8" wide

I may seal them if I can get 0.5 cu ft well see

and I think as those 07's get out there folks will see how good they are , especially at the used prices lately !!!

I just can imagine anything mainstream sounding better as a "overall" midbass/midrange that can cover so much frequency

mine were playing 63hz-80hz to 4000hz WHOA!

but hey well see over time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

had the XXX's , I prefer the overall sound of the 07's better but different strokes for different folks

to the original poster do wish you would have gone to djdillidon first as those prices are rather high for car audio though

you can get 6.5" components to play flat from 20-20k and i know you can get 5.25 to play flat from 45-20k all speakers that have done this werent "ultra high end" either its all plaining and doing rather than just adding more speakers. i am a firm believer that more is indeed less when it comes to sq in a car. only time i would do a 3 way is if it was in a big ol boat of a car or suv where i could space/cluster them real propper otherwise outside of being slightly tonally better you would have just created a headache in clarity and staging. but then again im an *** about that lol
