my 7995 starts to skip when im playing a bass heavy song at high volumes.. time for a new deck? looking into the eclipse 8445.. or something along the lines of that, that wont skip at high spl #s

1) Voltage dropping too low

2) Shaking the everloving piss out of the deck =)

In the manual, it suggests that you run the deck on it's own independant power wire, instead of the dinky factory one. Did you try that?

7995 = no internal amp, im pretty sure its shaking the shit out of it... when i turn it up the whole faceplate is vibrating.... i got some good news though, i went on ebay and saw that http://stores.ebay.com/hifiaudioonline was selling the eclipse CD8445 bnib for 259.99 + 29.99 shipping, the auction had a best offer option on it so i submitted a 200 dollar offer + the 29.99 shipping and he accepted it, BNIB CD8445 for 229.99? i think so!

the eclipses are very good about not skipping. i have no problems with my alpine, and my alpine in my boat doesnt even skip when i hit a wake. maybe the lens is a little dirty. i would get a cleaning disc first and try it out clean.

The 7995 is near impossible to skip.. Something has to be wrong..

Even tho I ran a 7995 for 2 years and think its the BEST **** HU I have ever owned.

I think it is time to upgrade, but not to a NEW Alpine..

LOL! of course not, yes i tryed the cd cleaner, it used to skip all the time on normal cd's that are a bit scratched but after the cd cleaner it plays them perfect.. i think the lens is just sensitive to vibrations....

i have a friend who let someone else help him stick his in his new truck, he ripped it out of his old one, and his friend smoked it during the install.

oh 9835 is said to be awesome.. i got a 9815 and i like it a lot

my 7995 works great but the faceplate is breaking on me but still usable.. the Tim\e correction button is so stiff and almost stucc that i have to press it hard to get it to press.. i dont use it anyway though... and the eject faceplate button has comoletly broken.. if i press it nothing happens.. the spring will go down and the button will depress but the little stick that is suppose to "poke" the chassis to release the face is broken off.. and its a little scratched and not as purty as you guys' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
