CD7100 comparison to 880prs - and questions

You don't need the gps unit for area shot.
I don't know the total, I made payments then picked it up, lol.
really?? dang i gots to figure out how to use it then.. i've always thought you needed a GPS unit...

can you explain how to use it? I thought it was just download the map off of iserv and put it into your memory stick but it didnt work for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

You have to put it in a folder called ECLIPSE then another folder inside there called AREA then upload via USB date on the area map screen.

Hey man, glad to see you like it!
When you get a chance....cut off the subs, thrown in a 0db track and get close to your tweeters and let me know if you hear anything. With a normal CD, is there any noise floor out of your tweeters at zero? How about as soon as you turn the volume to 2, 4(before the music kicks in..) Can you hear hiiiiiiiiiisssssssss?

Report back to me.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
You know I do hear a hiss I just didn't check it out completley. I thought it was because of my matrix. So let me pull the matrix then throw in the 0db cd and test it again. Once I get a chance to do that I'll will let you know.

You can burn it onto a disc and upload it that way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Not sure if this would help, but I had the cd7000 and the noise floor is pretty non existent, no matter what volume setting it was on.

Nice head unit, but it didn't win me over.

Took out the matrix, I do get a SLIGHT SLIGHT hiss if I put my ear up to the tweet otherwise in-audible.

I absolutely hate the return button on the unit though. It's a pita when your listening to a track and hit it by mistake or getting out of a menu you hit it one too many times and BAM right back to the root of the directory.

6) 880 has no built in aux and no built in USB, CD7100 has both but the interface is kind of blah on the USB and I have not yet tried out the AUX though.
Are you sure the 880 doesn't have an aux in? I checked the Pioneer website and they are saying that it is built into the rear of the unit. I'm asking because I'd like to pick the unit up, but if it doesn't have aux input, I'll have to keep looking.

Yup no problem! I had an 860mp before the 880 and I wish I never got rid of the 860. The output voltage was much better and was listed at 6.5 v and definately had more output vs the 880, probably around the same as your 8600.

On the 7100 can you shut down the internal amp or is it active all the time..?

Curious as to exactly what they changed with the 7100 as the 7000 was a great deck for the money. I never noticed the noise floor people talk about but I also never stuck a tweet in my ear trying to hear it either... Also with the 7000 hooked up to the home system for original testing, I never heard anything as well. Sounded great. Was not my old 9835 but the stellar PEQ was worth it.
