Sorry I about 10 years back in time. If I have a CD how do i turn it into an mp3 for my cell phone. Any mp3 will work, I just don't know how to convert them.
rip it onto your computer in the mp3 format otherwise dowload a program to convert the file into and mp3. basically google it and you will find a few programs that will work.
The best (quality) you can do is EAC/LAME. 2 app's that work in conjunction to create outstanding MP3's from CD.
There are about a gazillion others out there, including some you may already have on your computer, bundled with other app's like Nero or EZCD Creator, etc. They're OK -- get the job done, but your bit rate needs to be higher (larger file) for the same audio quality as LAME encoding.
I belive there is also a winLAME app that makes a super simple interface to LAME encoding. Still not totally as good as EAC/LAME, but better than most other app's.
http://www.download.com is your friend. If you want EAC/LAME instructions, let me know. I won't waste the time if there's no interest.
I love Magix Mp3 maker. It makes great VBR MP3. I have been using it since I boguht a cd in 2000. I just recenlty bought a 2005 version of the software. It's easy and my rips sound great.
