cd sq?

hey yall just curious how much does the quality of the actual cd itself affect overall sq and performance of a car system. i am not just talking brand vs brand, but like real copy vs burnt vs downloaded and ripped vs mp3 format onto cd? i have always wondered how much of noticeable diff it makes. i think i can tell some songs have low quality but it's hard to always tell...

the more compressed a file is, the more data it looses. notes start getting rounded off, and the extreme ends of the spectrum get cut off.

if your system is clear enough, you can hear the differences between bitrates. after comparing mp3s with cd's, i'd chosen to buy cd's only from now on and leave the mp3s only for the computer.

If lower quality on mp3's doesn't bother you, by all means burn and listen to as much as you can. Your order "real copy vs burnt vs downloaded and ripped vs mp3 " is pretty much the quality in decending order. Someone will tell you that a copy is identical but I have heard tales that cd burners aren't 100% with copies.

yah, which is why some people recommend you record at 2x or something low and keep all other programs to a minimum (keeping ram free).

to the average person though, they cant hear the difference.
